OLDEN C. TOUPS, JR.
Olden C. Toups, Jr. joined Grant & Barrow as an associate attorney in 1991. Mr. Toups is now and has been a partner in the firm since 1997 until 2024 when he became sole owner. He was a law clerk with the 24th Judicial District Court from 1975-1977 before going into private practice. Mr. Toups has been a Magistrate Judge for the City of Gretna since 1995. He is an experienced attorney in the areas of law including insurance defense, personal injury, succession law, family law, school law, and has handled all types of lawsuits involving many aspects of civil law. Mr. Toups has worked with the Jefferson Parish School Board for over thirty-four (34) years, in particular handling public bid matters, construction disputes and lawsuits, cooperative endeavor agreements with private and governmental entities and other types of litigation against the Jefferson Parish SchoolBoard, including but not limited to discrimination suits, employment suits, personnelmatters, workers’ compensation and bus accidents. Mr. Toups is companionate about the law and works diligently to get a fair and just resolution for his clients.
Mr. Toups attended college at Louisiana State University where he received his Juris Doctor Degree in 1975. He is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, federal court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Toups is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Jefferson Bar Association, Past President, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel (LADC), Member of the Executive Committee, Section on Insurance, Negligence, Workers’ Compensation and Admiralty, Louisiana State Bar Association and Knights of Columbus, St. Cletus Council.
ROBERT W. GRANT
Robert W. Grant is an associate attorneywho joined Grant & Barrow in 1988. Mr. Grant has worked extensively on cases including personal injuries, criminal defense, wills and successions. Prior to joining Grant & Barrow, Mr. Grant was an Assistant District Attorney with the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office for nine years successfully trying over one hundred criminal jury trials. In addition to his general practice, he has been a Traffic Court Referee at Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court since 2020. He also sits Ad-Hoc for Hearing Officers at Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court. Whether working a personal injury case or criminal matter, Mr. Grant uses his past experience to get the best results for his clients.
Mr. Grant graduated from Louisiana State University in 1985 and received his Juris Doctor Degree from Loyola Law School in 1988. He is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, federal court in the Eastern District of Louisiana and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has participated in lecturing at Continued Legal Education seminars. Mr. Grant is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, Jefferson Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association and former member of the Louisiana District Attorneys’ Association.
BRAD J. GEGENHEIMER
Brad J. Gegenheimer is an associate attorney who joined Grant & Barrow in 2004. Mr. Gegenheimer was in private practice between 2001-2004 during which time he was a stockholder at VictoryTitle Agency. He maintains a general practice covering various areas of the law including commercial and business, real estate, family law, criminal, and school law. Mr. Gegenheimer primarily works with the Jefferson Parish School Board handling workers’ compensation lawsuits and other types of litigation against the Jefferson Parish School Board. Not only is Mr. Gegenheimer very knowledgeable of the law but his big smile and warm personality helps put his clients at ease during troubling legal matters.
Mr. Gegenheimer received his Juris Doctor Degree from Louisiana State University in 2001. He is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts and federal court in the Eastern District of Louisiana. Mr. Gegenheimer is a member of the American Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, Jefferson Bar Association and Young Trial Lawyers.
CONNER R. TOUPS
Conner Toups is an attorney born and raised in Gretna, Louisiana, and has been working at Grant & Barrow as an associate since the fall of 2023. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 2020 with a B.S. Degree in Marketing. He then went on to attend Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where he worked in the Jefferson Parish District Attorney's Office as a member of the Criminal Prosecution Clinic during his senior year. This experience gave him an understanding of the voir dire process, provided him ample courtroom experience, and gave him the opportunity to work with individuals from all aspects of life. In the years prior, during the summertime, he worked in a Personal Injury firm in New Orleans where he gained valuable courtroom experience and learned how to advocate for his clients under the tutilage of a seasoned attorney. Presently, a bulk of Conner's workload involves representation of the Jefferson Parish School Board. Outside of this representation, he also handlestestate and intestate successions, trusts, wills, and personal injury. Outside of his practice, Conner enjoys working out, playing golf, and spending time with friends and family. As the son of a practicing attorney, the legal field is one that he has developed a fond appreciation for and he has a desire to help educate and advocate for those less fortunate.
